Where is this?

Many of you got the answer right (partly) to the guess-the-picture post that I posted.
Yes they are door-knockers.... and yes they are mounted onto a mirror.
I was looking for a complete answer...

@Anonymous: (Wish you'd just leave your name...!!) You are the first to try n guess the surroundings also...nice!
@All who said door-knockers: Yes...partly right...good work!
@Swaram: Lol, really? :D I liked the variety in your answer!!
@Scorpio: Very close!
@Rakesh: never mind! :P
@Vinnie: hahaha! ;-)
@Neha: LOL!
@Hitchu: You've come closest to guessing it...nice work...
@Sawan: Almost there! ;-)

The complete answer: Door knockers...hung from a mirror. They also face another mirror hence the multiple reflections back to back. And the last part (which would have been difficult to guess), this hangs above the seat of a dining area in a restaurant. Below it comes the seats. There are individual such seating arrangements all over the restaurant where seats are placed facing each other with this mirror arrangement right above it.

Pretty indigenous, don't you think? :-)

Leaving you all with another guessing game...

Any ideas on where this place is? I had the good fortune of visiting it (and no, it is definitely not UK so don't go there :D )

Anybody a little well-travelled (around the world) can easily guess those monuments. The rest of you can go for a nice guessing game... :-) Good luck!
And in case you are wondering, yes, all three pics are from different areas of the same country...

It's the land of Pharaohs EGYPT! The last pic is of the Obelisk of Hatshepsut at Karnak Temple in Luxor, which is still the tallest surviving ancient Obelisk.

Now where is that prize buddy??

Now since I'm one of those less-travelled friends of yours, I'm seriously going to be needing some clues to even attempt a guess. So c'mon clues please!!

For starter, the scribblings on the pole in the last pic looks like some chinese scripture to me. Is the place in the far east??

Ashwathy said...

@Deeps

Where is my comment/ that too the right one? sobs..sobs..

I am 200% sure that the place is Rome and it is the mysterious Obelisk Macuteo in Florence.

Emm said...

I have no idea where it is but I would also have said Egypt. Lovely photos though!

Sakshi said...

Where is the answer madam??

braveneworld said...

It's Turkey. The obelisk is one of only 8 or 9 that've survived from that period, and it's been placed right in the heart of Istanbul.
